Screw conveyors for bulk materials handling and processing
Since 1949, Jacmor Engineering, has specialised in the design and manufacture
of screw conveyor systems and their application to processing and handling
of bulk materials. Our skills and expertise are recognised in a wide
range of industries with Jacmor designed and manufactured equipment operating
throughout Australia and overseas markets.
Jacmor screw conveyor systems are working right now in aluminium refineries,
chemical plants, power generating stations, coal wash facilities, bakeries,
flour mills, sewerage works, timber and pulp mills, refractories, food processors
and many other industries. They are the most efficient cost effective method
of bulk materials handling in many of today's processing and manufacturing
industries.
Their long life, simplicity of maintenance, high efficiency even under
partial load and reliability when handling heavy and demanding materials
give them outstanding advantages compared with alternative systems.
Screw conveyors
Screw conveyors form an integral part of many production processes. Mixing,
blending, heating, cooling, liquid extraction, dewatering, drying or similar
operations can be performed whilst bulk solids or liquids are being conveyed
from one point to another.
Screw conveying is not limited to transporting materials on a horizontal
plane. Standard designs with auxiliary equipment are available for operating
on inclines or for the vertical elevation of materials.
The use of solid state digital control systems, PLCs (program logic
controllers) and loss of weight feeders add a high degree of sophistication
and control.
Highly developed seals confine the products conveyed within the trough
along with dust, fumes or gases. Materials can similarly be protected
from contamination and the elements.
Comparatively compact, screw conveyors do not require a return run,
are virtually vibration free and relatively quiet in operation. Multiple
inlet and discharge points are easily incorporated.
Screw conveyors are capable of continuous operation, usually require
minimal maintenance and are considered to be relatively inexpensive equipment
resulting in cost effective processing operations.
Screw Feeders
When screw conveyors are used to discharge material from the base of
bins or hoppers, they are designed as screw feeders and can accurately
meter the materials being discharged.
Live Bottom Bins
When multiple screw feeders are used to empty the contents of a bin,
they are called "live bottom bins" and are ideally suited for
discharging materials that have a tendency to pack or bridge.
Mixing and Blending
Jacmor manufacture a wide range of mixers and blenders suitable for
use in many industries including the food industry. A complex ribbon
design promotes thorough homogenous mixing of a multitude of products
in large batches.
