Live Bottom Bins
Live bottom bins are designed to provide positive discharge of a wide variety of materials from storage or surge bins into a process. The live bottom bin sits beneath a straight sided hopper, and are composed of a number of screws working in tandem to remove product from a bin evenly and at a given rate.
Designed to eliminate bridging and other flow related issues, live bottom bins operate flooded (100% full) with the inlet section of the screw or trough modified to ensure a "Mass Flow" first-in, first-out flow regime, drawing material evenly from across the length of the inlet. Modifications may include changes in the flighting diameter, pitch, pipe diameter, trough shape, etc.
Through Jacmor's experience by varying the pitch and style of flights the live bottom bin can be designed to operate efficiently with a vast range of materials. Live Bottom Bins are of particular use where large base areas of material are to be transferred and when the project has limited working area to store and handle the material.
Live Bottom Bins are also extremely useful as batching or as portable bins, or as weigh bins, controlling the flow rate of free flowing, bulk material from a bin or a hopper.
Jacmor design and manufacture each Live Bottom Bin system to meet the project application.
